Black Dog Syndrome

According to animal shelter and rescue center professionals, there is a phenomenon, called the black dog syndrome. The black dog syndrome has not been scientifically proven, however according to shelters and rescues, it has been proven time and time again, that black dogs will likely stay in shelters longer, and are more likely to be euthanized. some of the theories of why black dogs are less likely to be adopted, is black dogs tend to represent evil in literature, often are portrayed as mean, and aggressive in film, and television, black dogs don't photograph well, and are less expressive. I know this may sound ridiculous to some, however the fact still remains that the black dogs are more difficult to adopt.
