Indonesia's Island of Sumatra is a treasure trove of excellent coffee. We roast this coffee dark and it brings out deep flavors of sage, cedar, bakers' chocolate and walnuts. This coffee is wet hulled and sun dried. The rich volcanic soil that formed the island gives this coffee an exotic profile we think is worth buying year after year, excellent for espresso. Dark Roast
Decided to try this dark roast based on the description on the website. It did not disappoint!!! I rate it 5-plus stars for its rich, robust flavor that satisfies what my taste buds yearn for first thing every morning. It's dark and satisfying without a hint of acidity or "burnt" flavor. Can't wait for the water to heat and my pour-over cup is ready. Oh! Makes a wonderful espresso from whole beans in my machine too.
This coffee has a nice rich, earthy, balanced taste. Great for a standard cup of coffee.
